AC cleaning or repair: request the right kind of visit

Describe an existing fault before booking a routine cleaning appointment.

Labeled thermostat, return filter, indoor coil, moisture drain and outdoor condenser

Start with what the system is doing

If cooling changed, describe the change before choosing an appointment package. Warm air, repeated stopping or a system that runs without making the home comfortable needs an explanation. A routine cleaning package may not include a fault diagnosis or the work needed to correct it. Ask the business whether your description changes the recommended visit.

Understand the cleaning scope

Ask which accessible components are included and how the completed work will be documented. Filters, coils and drainage serve different purposes; a package name does not establish that every component will be cleaned or repaired. A filter change is not equivalent to an internal system repair. Ask about difficult access and whether deeper cleaning requires a separate charge.

Keep homeowner observations simple

Record the thermostat display, when discomfort occurs and which rooms are affected. Follow the equipment manufacturer's instructions for any homeowner-accessible filter care. Do not remove electrical panels, handle refrigerant or climb onto a roof to identify equipment. Share information you already have rather than turning the preparation into a repair attempt.

Ask for a clear handoff if a fault is found

If cleaning reveals a repair need, request the finding and written proposed scope before approving more work. Keep the report with previous records. This site's supported cleaning service is for central AC; it is not a duct-cleaning package, mold-remediation service or ductless mini-split offer. Confirm your equipment and exact address with the business.
